Leave no Trace.
At Biosphere Boodja, we’re deeply committed to honoring the land we gather on. Inspired by Burning Man’s renowned waste management principles, we’ve adopted a comprehensive Leave No Trace policy to ensure our festival leaves the lightest footprint possible - while creating lasting memories.
What this means for you.
MOOP Patrole (Matter of Place)
Every scrap matters — even glitter and bottle tops. Volunteers will be doing site sweeps, but your vigilance is key to protecting the land.
Recycling & Composting Stations Bins will be clearly marked to help you dispose of waste correctly.
Please use the right bin and help us reduce what ends up in landfill.
Sustainable Art, Design & Installation
Our artists and design team are committed to sustainability at every level. Festival design and staging will be created primarily from salvaged natural materials sourced in Goomalling and recycled materials from local farms. Large-scale art installations will use biodegradable or reusable elements, and workshops will explore sustainable creative techniques.
Radical Self Reliance
All attendees are expected to manage their own waste. Please bring reusable items and take responsibility for what you consume on-site.
Pack It In, Pack It Out
Everything you bring should ideally leave with you — including packaging, gear, and recyclables. We’ll have bins on site, but we’re aiming for our landfill bins to be as empty as possible.
Eco-Friendly Vendors Only
All food and market stallholders must use biodegradable or reusable packaging. No exceptions.
