Dome Projections.
As night falls over Goomalling, something truly extraordinary will unfold. Projected onto the towering CBH grain domes - visible from space - leading WA video projection artist Steven Alyian will bring to life the ancestral totem story of Ballardong Elder Tracey De Grussa.

The Totem Story

Inspired by Noel Nannup’s Carers of Everything, this story speaks to the sacred responsibility of stewardship and care for all living beings in the biosphere. The narrative then shifts perspective through animated clay characters created by Fleur Schell and brought to life by Steven Alyian, inviting the audience to see the world through the imaginative eyes of a child. To re-wild our planet, we must first imagine what our future would feel like without the things that bring us such joy and pleasure. This is not just a projection. It is a ceremony of light, story, and deep cultural significance—a never-before-seen film brought to life on a scale never attempted here before. Tracey’s sacred totem stories, combined with the transformative power of art, offer a shift in perspective that connects past, present, and future—a lineage of culture, kinship, and nature. The CBH domes—typically silent monuments of industry—will become a vast, glowing canvas for one of the oldest living cultures on Earth. It is a moment of awe. A moment of deep listening. A moment that will leave you changed. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. A profound meeting of technology and ancient story—standing together under the stars, on Country, as one collective heart.
